When the page and scale factor are set to the desired values you may import CPT geotechnical sections from any CPeT-IT project file. Click on the Draw objects menu and select the Add CPT sections command. The following dialog will appear: ![]() Figure 5. Add CPT sections dialog Click on the small folder icon at the right end of the CPeT-IT Project file edit box and from the dialog that will appear browse to the directory where you stored the project file, select it and click on the Open button. The dialog will now load the CPT files included in the project file and some useful information will also be available. ![]() Figure 6. Project file loaded SectionMaker will automatically select (place a tick mark on the check box) CPT files that have a typical geotechnical section defined. Information about the maximum depth and coordinates of the CPT files will also be available. In order to place the sections inside the page the starting point of the first selected CPT file must be defined. The starting point coordinates are absolute coordinates relative to the current page. For the project file selected we will insert the files CPT-08, CPT-09 and CPT-10 using as a starting point the point with coordinates X 10.00 and Y 5.00. The first CPT file (CPT-08) will be placed at position 10.00, 5.00 and all other sections will be placed relative to the first one (taking into consideration the coordinates and elevation). Click on the OK button to insert the section on to the page. ![]() Figure 7. CPT sections on the paper CPT sections are placed in the Section layer of the drawing. If you need to delete a section first make sure that the current working layer is the Section layer (search this information at the status bar of SectionMaker). In case you need to change the working layer click on the Working layer button of the Draw Tools toolbar and from the menu that will appear, select the Section layer. Alternatively, you may right click anywhere in the drawing area (outside any drawing object) and from the menu that will appear again select the Section layer. |
