A very useful drawing object is the axes object. The axes object is a rectangle that displays X and Y coordinates axes and can be placed to include the geotechnical sections and provide useful information such as horizontal distance between two sections.
To begin drawing the axes object select the Draw axes command from the Draw objects menu or alternatively click on the button on the Draw tools toolbar.Move your mouse over the point that will define the top left corner of the axes object and press the left mouse button. Move your mouse to the point that will define the bottom right point of the axes object and press the left mouse button. The following dialog will appear:

Various visual properties for the axes object can be defined during the creation procedure (or after the object has been created). These properties are:
| 1. | Left axis, Top Axis, Right Axis, Bottom Axis: When the check box is check the corresponding axis will be displayed |
| 2. | Horizontal axis step, Vertical axis step: Defines the step value that will be used to display the axis labels |
| 3. | Labels font height: Defines the height of the labels font |
| 4. | Labels precision: Labels are presented in the form of a floating point number. The precision property defines the number of decimal points that will be visible. |
| 5. | Display grid: When checked a grid will be drawn |
| 6. | Grid color: Defines the color of the grid |
| 1. | Use the same coordinates of the first CPT section (when importing the sections) to allow the various axes display the X, Y zero in that point. In other case the zero point is the bottom left point of the page. |
| 1. | Enter text to appear as the title of the corresponding axis |
| 1. | Defines the font properties for the axes titles |

Note
In order to define new properties for the axes object just make sure you are working on the text layer and double click inside it. The properties dialog will then appear.
