Single line text can be added by selecting the Draw text command in the Draw objects menu or alternatively by clicking on the 
button on the Draw tools toolbar. The pointer cursor inside the page area is now a crosshair and the software waits for the point where the text will be placed. Left click with your mouse inside the drawing area and the following dialog will appear:

Type the text you wish into the Type text edit box and click the OK button. The text will now appear on your drawing area.
