Calculation of Vs or Vp profile is based on the selected (checked) signals in the Field Data tab. For each depth SPAS 2009 will identify group of signals and if more than one , will create and use the average signal for that depth.
Calculation of Vs profile
To begin the calculation, after clicking on the Create results menu command, the software will pop up a dialog and wait for a selection regarding the type of calculation to perform.

Available selections are:
1. Left side signal, L: Calculate Vs profile using only the selected Left side signals
2. Right side signal, R: Calculate Vs profile using only the selected Right side signals
3. Run and compare both sides: SPAS 2009 will calculate two Vs profiles based on L and R side signals and present the results
4. Run both sides (mean values): SPAS 2009 will calculate the Vs profiles for L & R signals and finally generate and present results based on the average values from the two profiles.
If P-Waves tab is selected under the Field Data tab then a Vp calculation will be performed so only the first selection from the above list will produce results.
Clicking the OK button will instruct the software to clear any previously saved results and perform a clean calculation. If there is the need to preview the results from a previous calculation then clicking the Load results button will retrieve the calculations that correspond to the calculation type selected.
Calculation results are presented in two sections based on the selected tab sheet located at the bottom of the Results tab. Overall results displays a plot with the average signals over depth and calculated Vs values. Detailed results displays line plots for the calculated Vs values, estimated soil unit weight and shear modulus Gmax for Vs calculations and calculated Vp values, Poisson ratio and Young's modulus for Vp calculations.
