You may customize the geometric properties of the installation grid using the above dialog. At the left area of the dialog at any time, you may preview the grid according to the input properties. The input properties are:
| • | Diameter: Defines the diameter for the stone columns. This value is only used for the visualization of the grid and does not affect any data entered in soil properties area. When you modify this value, in order to preview the changes you can click on the Refresh button. The value entered is also used to define the minimum allowable distance between the centers of the stone columns in both the horizontal and vertical direction. The minimum value is always set to the Diameter value. |
| • | X distance: The horizontal distance between the centers of the stone columns, in meters. |
| • | Y distance: The vertical distance between the centers of the stone columns, in meters. Please have in mind that the footing is oriented in such a way that its longest geometric feature (length) is drawn in the horizontal direction. |
| • | Grid type: You may choose between two different types of stone columns installation patterns, Rectangular or Triangular. |
| • | X start point: The absolute point relevant to the footing from where the software begins its calculations for computing the appropriate number of columns that fit in the horizontal direction. |
| • | Y start point: The absolute point relevant to the footing from where the software begins its calculations for computing the appropriate number of columns that fit in the vertical direction. |
